Ten years ago, our gym teacher put Alyssa and I on the same gym class volleyball team and the rest is history. We’ve been best friends since pretty much that day, the yin to each other’s yang, physical proof that opposites attract. There was no way on this planet that I would have let anyone else touch her face on her wedding day!
The day of the wedding, I knew I’d have my hands full. Not only was I responsible for Alyssa and myself, there were seven other girls in the bridal party. I’ve easily handled 8 bridesmaids in the past- but not when I was the Maid of Honor! To try to combat the stress I brought along Brooke, an assistant at my salon, to help me where I needed. She absolutely killed it and I can’t thank her enough for effortlessly stepping in even as a makeup rookie and impressing me beyond expectations.
Alyssa handed me the reigns for her look, which is usually how our glam sessions go! She is a minimal makeup girl in her daily life so she completely trusts me to handle the glam when she has an event (or you know, when she’s getting married). It means a lot to me when a friend or especially a client can say they trust whatever it is I choose for them on the biggest and most photographed day of their life.
Alyssa and Chris started dating back in early 2011 and were together for almost 5 years before getting engaged while apple picking in October 2015. I’ve never met another couple that compliments each other the way they do, and I’ve said time and time again that they’re the epitome of a “perfect” couple. They finish each other’s goofy sentences and are there for each other through every outside hardship they’ve had to face during their relationship, and sadly there have been many. Even though life is never a walk in the park, it was so emotional watching them literally walk through the park taking their wedding photos after the ceremony.
Their reception was held at The Foundry Suites in Buffalo, and every detail was thought of. The wedding was a perfect celebration of Chris and Alyssa, their friends and their family.
The night was absolutely spectacular.
I have to be honest and say that I don’t remember exactly every product I used on her face, but I know the important ones. The morning was a blur and I finished her makeup as we were loading the limo up to head to the ceremony. I am willing to bet that everything else is the same that I’ve used for brides in the past (mascara, liner, powders etc.) so take a look back on another BridalBabble post for those details!
